Hamlet definitely has a major character flaw, possibly several. There is less agreement on what that is. Here, I argue that his flaw is sloth- Hamlet takes too long to act and causes several tragedies that could have been avoided. Namely killing Polonius and the resulting fallout. Hamlet's name is "Man_of_Action" because Hamlet certainly likes the idea of action ("In action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god!" (2.2.187)). Ironically, Hamlet himself delays and avoids the question as much as possible. When his father, "Trust_in_Ghost," comes to ask why he is posing around with skulls and not acting, Hamlet says he has been thinking about it. "My thoughts be bloody, or be nothing worth!" (4.4.66) Laertes comes in at the end to serve as foil; while Hamlet was posing with skulls and giving epic soliloquies, Laertes task dramatic and decisive action. In short, this selfie shows that Hamlet spends too much time delaying and that is his fatal flaw.
